The Steady State Theatre Project

The Steady State Theatre Project is accepting applications for two new playwriting programs:

• The Steady State Playwright’s Unit
• The Steady State Writers’ Circle

The Steady State Playwright’s Unit works on the development of new plays that are already in progress. Meeting twice a month, each session will involve presentations from each playwright followed by a focussed look at one play. Your play will be showcased as part of a series of workshop presentations in May.

All interested applicants should submit:

• A script sample (no page minimum or limit)
• A bio or resume
• A brief description (no longer than one page) outlining your project and your development goals

The Steady State Writers’ Circle will focus on the initial development of new plays. The playwrights will be expected to come forward with a starting point or an idea and the group will work collaboratively on the expansion of these starting points into plays. After a six-month period, meeting twice a month, readings of excerpts from these plays-in-development will be presented as part of a series of workshop presentations.

All interested applicants should submit:

• A bio or resume
• A brief (no longer than one page) outlining your idea or starting point and why you think you – and it – are right for this group
