Audition Notice

The Steady State Theatre Project is holding auditions in Toronto for our upcoming production of:

18 Twitching Cheerleaders

August 14-25
Edmonton International Fringe Festival

This play follows the story of the squad of cheerleaders from Le Roy, New York who all began to suffer from tourette-like symptoms. Questions began to arise around mass hysteria, mass media and the environment. 18TC follows the hunt for answers.

After Edmonton Fringe hits in 2009 and 2012, Steady State is excited to return with this brand new dark comedy.

We are looking for 3 dynamic women to take on a number of roles in this epic adventure play, travelling to the biggest Fringe Fest in North America (second biggest in the world)! All performers must have physical versatility and comedic timing.

Audition Dates:
July 9 and 10 from 6-10

Rehearsals: July 22-August 10 (evenings/weekends)
Leaving for Edmonton: August 11
Returning: August 27

All interested applicants should send a resume and headshot to Maya Rabinovitch (Director) at steadystatetheatre@gmail.com.

All submissions must be received by Sunday, July 7 at 5pm.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We’re Looking for a Stage Manager!

The Steady State Theatre Project is looking for a stage manager for their upcoming production of I WILL NOT HATCH!

Rehearsals run very briefly at end of April, and the show runs May 6th – 11th.

I WILL NOT HATCH! will perform at the Berkeley Street Theatre Upstairs in Toronto.

STAGE MANAGER – Honorarium

The SM will support the director in any and every possible way by maintaining contact with everyone involved in the show from Producer to Director to cast members and designers. This is a large cast show that has been performed before. You, the SM, will be joining a previously assembled and rehearsed team and expected to hit the ground running to learn the required cues in order to maintain the director’s vision.
The Stage Manager must be able to attend two intense weekends of rehearsal at the end of April in addition to having complete availability during the first week of May for the run.

We are looking for an extremely organized individual, good at working under pressure and, preferably, someone who has lots of experience with Stage Management since this is not a simple show.

All interested applicants should email a resume to Christopher Douglas at SteadyStateTheatre@gmail.com by Monday April 22nd at 5pm.

For questions or submissions, please contact SteadyStateTheatre@gmail.com.
